We wish to advise that St Joseph's Cathedral will not be hosting the Lights of Christmas in 2024. We regret that escalating costs of production and logistical issues have meant it is not feasible to stage the Lights of Christmas this year.

This is not a decision that was taken lightly as we are very mindful that the Lights of Christmas has been a much-loved event and a wonderful opportunity for the local community to gather and reflect upon the true meaning of Christmas. At this stage, we have no plans to run the event again in future years, but we will, of course, always be looking for other ways to bring the community together to celebrate the Christmas season.

We sincerely thank those businesses and organisations that have generously sponsored the Lights of Christmas over the past few years. We also thank the many people who have assisted in the production and staging of the event, particularly the Chair of the Lights of Christmas Committee, Mr Rob Alexander and those who served on the Committee.
